On one beautiful May day, a seemingly harmless escalator attempted to eat Spring's foot as she was coming to meet me for dinner. In minutes, all of Jena was aware of Spring's ordeal (through some mysterious, but effective news-sharing process of the Developmental Psychology department). Seriously, people were coming out of nowhere telling us how they heard about what happened. Creepy. Here Spring models the artistic wrapping of her injurty (as created by Rainer Silbereisen, who perfected the technique in his military days). As you can see by her expression, Spring is less than impressed with the evening's events. Who can blame her?
