A bust of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, who moved to Jena in 1801 and taught at the University. In the late 18th and early-to-mid 19th centuries, Jena was the intellectual center of Germany's romantic movement and of Kantian philosophy in Germany. Though I think that it was called Prussia back then.
